TIMES: 97 km (by car), 14 km (hiking go/back) aprox
With private transportation from Huaraz, the departure will be between 3:00 to 3:30 am and we will drive to the north direction until the city of Yungay, from where we will take the detour and we will go east through an established race to reach the Huascarán National Park. After more than 3 hours of driving we will arrive at the starting point of the trek (4 640 m), from here we will get impressive views of the highest mountains of Peru such as Huascarán (6,768 m), Chopicalqui, Huandoy, Chacraraju and Pisco peaks .
The first section of our trek goes to a viewpoint near the Yanapaccha glacier, where we get impressive and panoramic views of the high mountains that surround us. This is where we begin our first descent of the day through a path between rocks and then through a forest of Queñual trees to reach a glacial lake below Nevado Yanapaccha; from here we will take the final part of the descent where we join the classic route to Laguna 69 at an altitude of 4200 meters.
The remaining 3 km ascend again passing through other lakes and some impressive waterfalls until we reach Laguna 69 at 4600 meters of altitude after approximately 1 and a half hours. Here you will have some time to relax, have lunch and take pictures. The descent until reaching the vehicle will follow the classic road from Laguna 69 to Cebollapampa. Return to Huaraz.
