Full day ascent Mateo peak
Climbing nevado Mateo, one of the peaks of the mountain range called Contrahierbas in the Huascaran National Park, Ancash. It has a height of 5150 meters and is considered a 5 thousand technically of medium ascent, the advantage is that it is possible to climb it in one day, since the transport reaches the base of the moraine or rocky road, however all ascent to a mountain implies certain risks and therefore the equipment, guides and adequate experience are required.
The path to reach the glacier Mateo is rocky and with certain slopes not suitable for those suffering from vertigo and can easily take 3 to 4 hours to reach the summit, depending on the climber’s physical condition.
For full day climbing to Nevado Mateo it is necessary to have a certain technique and experience of handling the ice ax and walking with crampons.
